Thursday, April 23, 2009

This list is almost the same as the last, but there are two new titles at the bottom. Just Take my Heart by Mary Higgins Clark and Loitering with Intent by Stuwart Woods I suspect might be on the list for a little while since both authors are very popular.

The Most Requested Titles - April 9, 2009

Well, the ever popular Janet Evanovich made the list for her new book Finger Lickin' Fifteen, despite that it isn't scheduled to be released until June 23. I suspect that it will be near the top of the list by that time it actually hits the shelves.

The Most Requested Titles - March 26, 2009

The new policy of only 5 holds per card is really cutting into the length of this list. David Baldacci's new book First Family squeeked in with 20 holds this time despite that it won't be released until April 21.

The Most Requested Titles - March 12, 2009

This go around, there is no Stephanie Meyer vampire books on the list. But some new titles have popped up including Handel With Care by Jodi Picoult and Long Lost by Harlan Coben. The lists should not be as long as in the past since we've started our new policy of people only able to place five items on hold at a time.

The Most Requested Titles - February 26, 2009

Again, John Grisham is at the top of the list with The Associate. But we have a new James Patterson book on order, 8th Confession, which has hit the list. And like I predicted last time, Promises in Death broke into the 20+ holds list this time. An interesting title that made the list is The Reader, which is over 10 years old originally published in 1997.

The Most Requested Titles - February 12, 2009

The Associate continues to be on top while the Stephanie Meyer Twilight books seem to be loosing ground. Some books which we have on order should break into the 20 holds or more on the next list include Promises in Death by J.D. Robb and Handle with Care by Jodi Picoult.

Edgar Allan Poe at 200

Amid all the political news and celebrations the past couple days, there was a literary anniversary last Monday, January 19th. That day was Edgar Allan Poe's 200th birthday. He was born in Boston in 1809 and died 40 years later in 1849. As one of the most influential American writers, it seems fitting to mention that his books of poems and short stories are constantly being checked out from the library.

The Most Requested Titles - January 15, 2009

This list has been shaken up a bit. The Stephanie Meyers Twilight books are still on the list, and the Janet Evanovich title Plum Spooky has come in and is checking out. But I think the coolest thing on this list is the children's book Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Last Straw. Also, there is a new James Patterson book, Run for your Life, which the library has on order.

New Moon: A Novel 45

The Most Requested Titles - January 3, 2009

For a new year, we have a new number one requested book. Twilight is no longer top of the list. With 21 copies of Twilight circulating, that means that the holds list for that book is pretty quick. Also, for the first time, a nonfiction book made the list. Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell is on the list. Some titles that have fallen off the list include Brisingr and The Shack.
